First Day of Spring

Yesterday was the first day of spring here in Michigan (and elsewhere, if I’m not mistaken).

It was ushered in with 28° temps, snow flurries, and high winds. Looking out the window, I realized that I wasn’t the only one unimpressed by spring’s arrival.

Not at all happy

However, once I summoned up the courage to venture outside, I did find a hopeful sign pushing through the leftover leaves and snow.

Hope pushes through ice

Daffodils pushing through the snow bring hope for warmer days.

Will this promise of renewal translate into the hope that a teenager’s bedroom carpet can also make an appearance through a mantle of leftover clothes?

Is there hope for this leopard skin rug?

I didn’t think so…
